Dr. Elizabeth Schilling, DVM
Relief Veterinarian
A California native, Dr. Elizabeth Schilling grew up surrounded by horses, sheep, dogs, cats, chickens, and ducks. She spent her childhood as a horse-crazy kid, deciding at age 4 that she would be a horse doctor. She graduated from UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine in 1992 and worked in ambulator equine practice, eventually limiting her practice to dentistry. Study of advanced equine dentistry led to interest in small animal dentistry as well. In addition to participating in and moderating a study group of veterinary dental residents, she has lectured about dentistry and pain management at local, national, and international conferences.
Dr. Schilling taught at Western University of Health Sciences form 2009-2019. Her clinical fields of interest/expertise included veterinary dentistry, clinical skills, and equine practice. She returned to practice to further focus on dentistry for large and small animals alike, and is excited to be able to focus more on dentistry. While not board-certified, she has been studying, learning, as well as teaching about dentistry for years, and even involved in a weekly resident study program since 2009.
Dr. Schilling shares her home with her Corgi, Jaqueline, and her retired goofball horse, Freddie. When not working, she enjoys goof food and wine, travel, and riding horses and bikes.
