Just wanted to say THANK YOU for the extra love and care you showed me and my boy Armor yesterday! Such a great feeling to know someone cares for your loved ones just as much as you do! Thank you Dr. Hall and your wonderful Staff for staying late to make sure he has more comfortable days ahead!!

If your pet needs dental care do not waste time by going to a general vet. We wouldn't go to a general practitioner for our own dental needs and this applies to pets as well. After wasting a lot of time and money going to regular vets for help, I finally used my brain and found a specialist. It unfortunately took me longer then it should have and the work was way more extensive then if I had been smarter about preventative care and locating the appropriate person for the work. I am unbelievably grateful to have found this clinic. In less then 2 weeks my dog is packing on the pounds and back to his old happy self. I could have hugged every single wonderful person here. I will never let Tom experience this sort of pain again. While I found everyone at this clinic lovely to deal with. If you don't like straightforward bedside manner, oh well. The point is to help your pet, not make friends and trust me your pet will like them just fine.

Dear Dr. Hall, Thank you on behalf of Cosmo, our beloved Grey Tabby, who we rescue from the Methuen MSPCA shelter about 14 years ago. He is big and beautiful and has been healthy other than his teeth problems over the past five years..My daughter and I decided this time round to take out all his teeth. I know, I know, this act sounds extreme and scary. However, I want to assure anyone that has a similar problem with their own aging pet to take the plunge. I am now happy to say, Cosmo's appetite is great, he looks terrific and most importantly he is extremely happy. We are now hoping to get at least five good years out of him.... And the good news is, we won't have to worry anymore about taking him to the dentist. Thanks again for all you do for our four legged friends. Warm regards

Joyce and Megan M.

We went to see Dr. Hall after a ton of consideration. We knew we wanted someone incredibly experienced when our 16 year old dog stopped eating and had been having pretty severe teeth chattering that had been gradually building up over the course of several months (this can be a sign of oral pain and a potential cause for her not wanting to eat also can be neurological. but paired with her breath, we could confidently assume that her teeth were causing her some level of pain). We wanted someone board-certified and discovered that there's only three (currently) veterinary oral specialists in the state of VA. Once I found ADC and Dr. Hall, I found in his off-time, he had also been performing dental surgeries for the last 12 years at the National Zoo and had been board-certified for 25 years, which was longer than the other two BC vets in VA. When I called to talk to someone about scheduling a consultation, to my surprise. Dr. Hall got on the phone himself. He answered my questions with honesty and spoke to me far longer than he ever needed to considering I was not yet even a client. I was so grateful for this because I was terrified  of anesthetizing my little girl at 16 but recognized that if I didn't do something. she may eventually starve herself and she could very well be in agony. Even with any sort of risk of anesthesia. I needed to make the choice to try to help her because I refused to think of her being in pain and watch her appetite continue to decrease. Dr. Hall reminded me that age is not a disease and while there's always some level of risk, the risk is low and generally, anesthesia is very safe. Unfortunately, they were scheduling surgery around a week or so out, and because she wasn't eating anything other than a tiny bit of steak by this point (literally all she would eat). I went to get a second opinion at one of the other BC vets. On my drive there, I called the third BC vet to see how long they had been performing surgeries; both still had less experience in the field than Dr. Hall. The oral specialist I had an appointment with that morning just so happened to have a cancellation that day and could've operated on her that very same morning, but my gut still told me no- with her age and assuming her oral issues would be decently severe to cause that level of chattering. I still wanted someone with the most experience possible. I walked out of their office and ADC just so happened to call me as they also had a cancellation and instead could see Sadie in a couple of days instead of a week. I was both thrilled and terrified and set up her surgery date. On the day of her consult and surgery. I met Dr. Hall for the first time. I think the not-so-happy reviews on here are mostly based upon people who allow their ego or personal opinions of his demeanor to get in the way of their loved one's well-being. I will say that Dr. Hall is a confident and politely assertive guy who doesn't sugar-coat things, which I personally appreciate as I don't want to be buttered up into denial. I realize some may not take to this well but you really should consider the **amount of experience** he has, the thousands upon thousands of both exotic and domesticated animals he's performed surgeries on -- and with 25 years of experience and knowledge in this field, his opinion was HIGHLY important to me, And I encourage you to consider this as well. All this to say: my sweet Sadie went into surgery on Wednesday, January 23 and it took about 2 1/2 hours. He extracted over 10 of her teeth and repaired a hole that had developed from oral infection. Being a senior, her recovery coming out of anesthesia was slower that I expected as I had to gently syringe feed her for a few days because her mouth was so painful. Prior to her surgery, her teeth chattering had very slowly progressed over the course of almost a year, and right before surgery, her chattering was so loud and severe it kept me up at night in total panic. There would be maybe a handful of hours combined in a day where she WOULDN'T be chattering. The moment she came out of that surgery, her chattering has been reduced by 90%. And ever since her oral sutures had healed, she is now EATING again - her regular diet on her own, eating all of it and anything I put in front of her. I can't stop talking about it. The change is tremendous and absolutely night and day. She's charging the yard towards our neighbor's dog -- SPRINTING at him, which I have to get her to stop because she IS 16 and I don't want her to hurt herself and is running and barking for treats and is excited for things I haven't seen in so long. I cry from happiness all the time. She is the love of my life and he's given me more time with her. I don't know how long that time will be, but I know for a fact we absolutely made the right decision. He is going to be the dental surgeon for all of our babies from here on out. Dr. Hall, thank you for EVERYTHING -- for giving us back our baby girl.

Dr. Hall and his staff provided us with clear explanations and listed our options. Rudy the Cat's dental surgery went perfectly, and he quickly recovered.

I wish I could give ten stars! Dr. Barron Hall and Cristal, the office manager, are incredible. Besides both of them being overwhelmingly nice, it is clear their love of animals and their love of working with animals is partly why they are so happy and kind. I took my girl Georgie there this morning. Georgie was diagnosed with a salivary gland disorder. My vet said she would need surgery. I did some research and found a top vet, Dr. Hall. By chance, I called shortly after closing and Dr. Hall answered the phone. So personable and knowledgeable. I made a consultation appointment and went in days later. Cristal was so kind getting the paperwork together and photographing Georgie. Georgie is a great judge of character. Usually timid, she immediately loved Cristal. When Dr. Hall came in, Georgie immediately liked him, too. Like al said, great judge of character. With Dr. Hall you will find an expert who loves his job. You will also find a super kind and honest man. His is principled. He won't perform a surgery just to make a buck. He wants what is right for the animal. If an animal (in this case my dog Georgie) has a situation that has a chance of remedying itself and is not in imminent danger, he offers sound advice. It may be that it comes to surgery one day, maybe not. Why take the risk and pay the price? Most vets would push the surgery. They are business people. Dr. Hall is rare. What a great person. I can see why he is so popular and why his reviews so great! Look no further. If your dog/animals is in need of expert dental advice and beyond, you will feel confident that your animal is in the best possible hands. Oh, and I believe I read he has worked at animals at the National Zoo! So like I said, I wish I could double his excellence with stars, but I will just have to give him the most stars allowed. Thank you Dr. Hall, Cristal and the entire Animal Dental Clinic practice!

As a breeder of German Shepherds, I truly appreciated the time Dr. Hall spent with us educating us on the dental issues of Dax. He was thorough in answering all our questions and giving us all the options. It was a breath of fresh air. Since covid most vets don't even see their human clients. This Dr. truly is passionate about his specialty. He has me a customer forever as I will have all my litters dental checked by him. Thank you Dr. Hall.

Our dog had two previous dental surgeries with other veterinarians and still had exposed roots and was in pain. I met Cristal and saw her scrubs that said Animal Dental Clinic and began telling her about Ace's experience. She told me to bring him into the clinic the next day and they would take care of him. We arrived at the Animal Dental Clinic the next morning and spoke with Dr. Hall for over an hour. With previous veterinarians, they are always in a rush to get you in and out. Dr. Hall explained everything to us, showed us photos and models to ensure that we understood all of his recommendations, and did not push us into a decision. We decided to do surgery that same day. Dr. Hall extracted & teeth, along with the remaining chunk of a canine tooth that was left behind in a previous surgery by another veterinarian. One week later and Ace is better than he has been in months since this nightmare began! He is pain-free, has gained weight, and is happy and playful again. Dr. Hall also called the next day to check on Ace and to ask if we had any questions or concerns. I now know that it is essential to take your dog to someone who specializes in the mouth for any dental work. We could have saved thousands of dollars and saved our dog a lot of pain if we would have gone to Dr. Hall first! Cristal is very kind and gentle with the animals. They truly treat your animals like family. I HIGHLY recommend Animal Dental Clinic! (He is) doing well!! You guys are true heroes!!! We will be forever thankful for you all!!

Dr. Hall and the rest of the clinic staff were incredible. It's obvious that they really cared about the well-being of my 8-year old cat and they were reassuring and gentle. The needed a tooth removed after being diagnosed with resorption. They took such wonderful care of her and made the process as least traumatic as possible. Highly recommend trusting them with your A-legged friend. (Rosemary's tooth was undergoing stage 4A tooth resorption. This is a progressive and painful disease)

My Border Collie was recently in for a root canal and an extraction. I couldn't be happier with the professionalism and care from Dr. Hall and his staff. I work in the dog industry, so I tend to be one of those "difficult" people, and I question everything. Dr. Hall answered every question with clear answers weighing the pros and cons. I knew the price was going to be high because you get what you pay for; you wouldn’t go to your GP for a root canal, right? I truly disregard reviews of people complaining about how care for your pet shouldn’t be so expensive. You aren’t just paying for the procedure... I prefer that he gave me every option and let me choose, but he did also answer, "If this was your dog, what would you do?" with clear answers weighing the pros and cons. The facility is small, inviting, and extremely clean. It was a bit difficult to find, but I blame Waze a little bit on that one LOL. Phoenix recovered quickly and very well and is back to her normal self with a dog show this weekend and therapy visits this week. Dr. Hall called the day after surgery to check on the patient and again a few days later. She ate dinner that night and was very comfortable for the recovery time. He truly cares about the pets because when we showed up for our 2-week check-up, Phoenix was doing her best to hide under the chair, and Dr. Hall just got right on the ground and she crawled in his lap and that was that. If you want years of knowledge and experience not only in animal dentistry but just animals in general... this is your place.

I'd like to thank Cristal for the kind phone call after Smoke's passing and for the wonderful card from the office, with heartfelt words of sympathy from Dr. Hall and all the staff. It meant a lot to me, and I really appreciate having received that. It's still here on my "Smoke memorial table." Here's hoping for a much better New Year for us all!

Ellen

Many thanks to Dr. Hall and his staff for excellent care and follow-up visits. Ashley now enjoys eating again!!

Dr. Hall is a compassionate professional operating in a relatively rare subspecialty of veterinary medicine. His passion lies in your animal's oral health and comfort, first, and foremost. The first thing he did when he walked into the exam room was to greet my cat by getting on his level and to commence building initial trust, Major points for this!! In addition to his office practice in Vienna, be's worked on a plethora of exotic species, and uses his gifts via volunteer work as well Disclaimer: Dr. Hall may deliver news about, your pet's dental needs which may, at first, be hard to digest, or will be shocking. To quote him, he opens Pandora's Box every day. I brought, my cat Alastair in for what I thought, would be a status quo consult, radiography screen, and cleaning. I proceeded to learn that my precious cat was in advanced stages of tooth resorption, and he had many teeth already missing, and bad no functional teeth which worked together productively. The recommendation was a full mouth extraction of the teeth he had left, and that "be'd be much happier toothless. At first, I thought, I'd need a spatula to peel myself off The floor. I implore anyone, in this situation who has brought, his or her beloved animal to Dr. Hall to trust his professional judgment. If he comes across curt, it is because he knows his stuff and sincerely wants to heal your animal He is NOT trying to be pushy, scare you, or rob you blind. I took time while Dr. Hall put Alastair under anesthesia and did the radiography to research Alastair's condition a bit more, while recovering from my initial shock, and quickly concluded Dr. Hall had hit the nail on the head. I authorized the full mouth extractions, learning a domesticated animal can easily live a high-quality life without teeth, and even gum crunchy treats or food once healed! Dr. Hall did a beautiful job with the surgery. Post surgical consult, with both him and his (receptionist) Kim was thorough and comprehensive, including full transparency of aftercare instructions and review of radiography results. He called the following AM, again, very patiently going through concerns, including the fact, Alastair had removed his pain patch overnight, Dr. Hall called my primary vet, right, away to call in oral pain meds to ascertain Alastair didn't miss a beat pain med wise. Alastair has two post surgical consults lined up as well. Long story short, you may not hear from Dr. Hall what you want to hear about your animal, but you will definitely bear what you need to hear. His care is worth every penny and ounce of your trust

I scheduled with Dr. Hall after dozens of internet searches. My priority when selecting a doctor to care for my dog's broken 4th pre-molars was competency, experience, compassion, and cost....in that order. When it comes to caring for a beloved pet/family member, here is where you really have to understand not just the cost, but the value. First impressions: My initial phone contact was with Sarah. She was professional, friendly, and patient. Although she was very busy, she was willing to answer questions about general costs based on a description of my pet's issues and offered to respond with more details via email. I provided pictures of my dog's teeth and received a response within hour or so. I realize there were other doggie/cat patients that needed her attention, so I appreciated the follow-up. Office Visit: The office was easily accessible from Route 66. The environment is clean and fresh and the person who greeted us. Cristal, was very friendly and made the check-in process smooth. Within 5 minutes of arriving, we were escorted to an exam room. The Doctor: After a short wait, Dr Hall came with a smile and a firm handshake. That immediately calmed some of my anxiety. Dr. Hall also got down on the floor to meet my pet, which I loved. He patiently walked me through my dental options and shared approximate costs. There was no pressure to go with any particular option, but the available options were openly shared, including the follow-up requirements for each. I felt zero pressure to go in any specific direction and was relieved when Dr Hall told me that my pet would be fine with whatever option was selected. With that assurance I moved forward. My pet was patient #3 for that day. I left my pet in Dr. Hall's hands and -5 hours later, he personally called with a status update. He found two more teeth were broken (I had no idea). I gave the okay to deal with all the damaged teeth and within two hours I got a call from Cristal letting me know Raven was in recovery and I could return for her. Discharge: Cristal shared photographs of my pet's teeth and explained what was done. She was extremely thorough in her discharge instructions and handed me a packet that included the doctor's notes, details of what was done, radiograph and camera images, and follow-up care instructions. The attention to detail and the thoroughness of the communication in this office is superb! Within a few minutes, Dr Hall came out with radiograph pictures of my pet's teeth and discussed what he had done and the overall health of her mouth. After he was done, he went back to get my pet. She came running up to me, which was so awesome. It let me know she was her normal self- a little groggy from anesthesia-but mobile and alert. Follow-up: The next morning, Dr Hall called personally to check on her and reminded me of our two-week follow-up appointment. When it comes to anything you love... details matter! If you are deeply concerned about the level of care your pet is given and you desire excellence in treatment, care, and follow-up...look no further. The value was worth the cost!

We found our dog Phoenix hiding in a corner scraped up pretty bad with his front teeth smashed in. We think he was hit by a car, but we're not quite sure. The emergency animal clinic we took him to recommended Dr. Hall who we gave a call and left a message. Dr. Hall normally does not work on Sundays, and he also had an early flight the next morning, but he called us back right away and agreed to perform an emergency surgery on a Sunday night. When we met Dr. Hall, he was very polite and patiently answered all of our questions. When we left, we felt like we were leaving Phoenix in good hands, and he did not let us down. For the next week Dr. Hall called us every day to check on Phoenix. We couldn't be happier with Dr. Hall and his level of service. Phoenix had to have his top row of teeth removed, but otherwise has made a full recovery and is back to doing all the things he loves - eating, playing tug-a-war, and chewing his bones. We feel extremely blessed to have Dr. Hall as our animal dentist and we will continue taking our dogs to him for regular teeth cleaning.

I would like to thank you all for your hard work, patience, and staying late on a Friday night to treat me. You all are the best! My mom knows that Im in great hands when I come here! Thank you,

Violet (woof!)

I knew that my dog's teeth needed some help but had put it on the back burner because he didn't seem to be in pain. Sure enough, one day he did seem to be in pain and ADC were able to get him in to be seen quickly. The work Dr Hall said was needed was, admittedly, significantly more than I had expected but once Dr Hall went through his x-rays, I understood why each tooth that was removed absolutely did have to come out. Dr Hall and his team were also very understanding when I had concerns about post- op swelling and had me bring him in for a recheck that day. Our 10 year old beagle has a new pep in his step and isn't missing his infected and cavitied teeth one bit.

I brought my Boston Terrier here for oral surgery, and I could not be more happy with the care that he received. From the minute I walked in the door, the experience was excellent. The front desk staff was very friendly, and Dr. Hall is an extremely knowledgeable dentist. He took the time to explain my dog's procedure, and I left my dog for surgery with complete confidence in his care. I could not be happier with the clinic, and I highly recommend Dr. Hall!

I brought my 3-year-old dog, Harper, to see Dr. Hall at the recommendation of her vet. Harper had 3 fractured teeth with the pulp Nerve exposed. I was able to get an appointment quickly and it's very convenient that the office lets you schedule the consultation and procedure same day. The day before her appointment, I received a call from the office reminding me not to give her breakfast and to see if I had any questions. My husband took her in for her consult the next morning. Dr. Hall examined Harper's mouth and mentioned a few options but wanted to get a closer look once she was put under. Later that day, after getting a better look, Dr. Hall called me and my husband and discussed the best options and provided cost estimates. We pulled two smaller teeth and decided to get a root canal for a canine tooth that was chipped. I picked her up in the afternoon (my first time to the office) and was rather impressed. The office is lovely; clean, comfortable and nicely decorated. Very homey. I was immediately greeted and attended to. I believe one women's name is Cristal and she was very helpful and extremely knowledgeable. She told me how the procedures went and what to expect when Harper comes out. She walked me through detailed instructions for her medications and brushing. She even provided tips for making an enjoyable process for Harper. Dr. Hall came out with Harps and went over the procedure and again, answered my questions. Harper came out with her tail wagging and was more alert than I expected. I chatted with Dr. Hall and Cristal for awhile and never felt rushed. Dr. Hall called the next day  to check in. We were having a hard time getting Harps to take her medication and keep it down. He gave me some tips, which worked like a charm! The cost was very reasonable too. I was afraid it would be high since it's more of a specialty practice, but it was comparable with what my vet quoted (excluding the root canal since the vet office doesn't perform them). Overall I had a great experience and would definitely recommend this practice. Added bonus, they asked if I wanted to keep the teeth they pulled (duh)!

Susan S.

A great experience from navigating their website to after care follow-up! In talking with another local veterinary dentist practice, I found Dr. Hall's practice much more up front in both cost, options of treatment and added costs for tests. Dr. Hall was great about all the different options not only in the treatment but the care that my dog would need following. I am so impressed with his patient interview process, all the while helping me assess what course of treatment might be best for my dog. I never felt that he or his staff over pressured me into making one medical choice over the other. The options were there, and it was mine to make. Dental work on humans is expensive so it was no surprise that animal dentistry can also be costly. We should not expect that because they are animals, they deserve any less than the best. Dr. Hall has not only years of knowledge but years of hands on experience. He really was the best for us! I could not be happier with the care he showed my dog and the time he took in explaining various procedures and options. I came to Animal Dental Clinic on a referral from another client and would not hesitate to refer his practice to others.

I'm not one to post reviews but had to write one about the exceptional treatment our young cat received from the Animal Dental Clinic! One day she yawned, and I noticed a growth in her mouth that looked suspicious. Although she was acting fine, I thought it was best to take her in to her normal vet to get it checked out. Her regular vet said it was a "classic case of stomatitis" and that he recommended tooth extraction. Given that she was only 13 months old and wasn't having any of the typical symptoms of stomatitis (and the major recommendation of tooth extraction), I decided to take her into an expert for a second opinion. I am so glad I took her in to see Dr. Hall! He immediately disagreed about the stomatitis diagnosis and said that it was an oral mass. Tooth extraction would have been useless. She had the mass removed by Dr. Hall three weeks ago and we are so happy it wasn't cancerous. You can tell that Dr. Hall genuinely cares about animals. He is very patient and makes sure that he has answered every question you might have. I was so impressed that when I picked her up from surgery, Kim at the front desk took the time to explain all the details of surgery, what to expect while our cat recovered, and even handed me a good deal of papers with everything written down, pictures from the surgery, and copies of the dental x-rays they took. Dr. Hall even called the next day to make sure she was feeling okay and that we didn't have any concerns. About a week later, he even called us with the results from pathology. It may be pricey going to the Animal Dental Clinic, but things get done correctly the first time. I regret taking our cat to our regular vet and the money we spent on getting useless tests done. I am so glad we didn't pay the $800+ that we were being quoted for her to get tooth extraction, and then still would have had to get the mass taken care of when it didn't resolve. My recommendation, if it deals with the mouth, just take your pet to an expert! It's so worth it!

Positive: Professionalism, Quality, Reliability, Responsiveness, Value. Dr. Hall and his staff are amazing. My kitty Penelope needed extensive dental work. Their process is completely setup to be as easy as possible on their animal patients. Your follow-up is included (even tho Penelope missed hers due to a last-minute crate escape.). This, too, is to benefit the pets. Dr. Hall called the day after the procedure to check on us. He was very kind and professional. Everly was easy to work with, knows her stuff, and is a huge animal lover. Highly recommend this practice!!!

Dr. Barron Hall and the ADC staff are absolutely amazing. I've been going to ADC for six years with three different dogs, and Dr. Hall has my earnest respect and gratitude for the pain and suffering he relieved and prevented. He does what is in the best interest of his patients, and I have absolute faith in his recommended courses of action. Thank you Dr. Hall. Thank you ADC!

I rescued my pitty-mix, Monty Python about 3 years ago and knew I would need to do some major surgery on the poor guy's teeth. Someone had cut all 4 of his canine teeth! Dr. Hall was amazing with him and made me feel comfortable in my ability to care for him after his surgery (I was much more nervous than Monty P). I had done a lot of research on dental specialists in the DC area and was willing to travel pretty far to get the right kind of treatment. The whole staff is amazing, and they were extremely flexible with my schedule. It has been about 3 weeks since Monty got his teeth removed and I can honestly say it has changed both of our lives. When Monty went in for his follow-up today, he was so wiggly-excited to see Dr. Hall and Cristal. I'll be bringing all of my rescues here in the future for their dental check ups.
Thank you all for such a welcoming experience!

I have an older rescue dog, whose health issues were never revealed. Even after taking Cooper to several vets, and multiple teeth cleanings they never indicated Cooper had any issues. After a recommendation from the Banfield in Alexandria to see Dr. Hall, he revealed multiple issues with Cooper's mouth, and I am grateful for him. The very first thing I noticed was Dr. Hall made every attempt to get Cooper to trust him. Something l had never seen from any other vet. Dr. Hall let me know what was wrong, and how to fix it which we did. I felt very comfortable leaving Cooper here to have his dental work done.

Erica H.

I was very impressed by Dr. Hall's professionalism. He took a long time to explain to me and my husband the options to resolve our dog's broken tooth. He did not try to sell us on the more expensive option and instead gave us a very clear, neutral opinion of our choices giving us the freedom to make a decision based on our feelings and our budget. Our dog is indispensable, and a spoiled only child, so this decision was very important to us. I also was impressed by the cleanliness and organization of the place... (I'm adding photos to prove it!) This was a part of the decision process as we had other -few- options in the greater DC area for an Animal Dental Specialist. Snacks in the wait room made the pickup a bit sweeter too. Service was grand. Dr. Hall and his staff were courteous and knowledgeable. The bill was a bit steep, but it was the exact same price charged by the other dental specialists in Baltimore and Rockville... I called all of them before choosing, and I think I made the right selection.

After all the money we spent taking our dog to different vets—stating that she is not eating and has extremely bad breath—we finally got referred to Dr. Hall. He extracted 13 teeth and gave our Ashley a new life! She is happy and energized and no smelly breath! The staff was fantastic, and the care Dr. Hall provided was excellent! They called every day after the surgery and I am very pleased with the professional and caring attitude the doctor and staff provided!

Dr. Hall, just wanted to let you know that Hattie Boy is so happy and thriving since you extracted his teeth and saved him in July 2019. He's had no reoccurrence of his painful gum problem. Thank you,

Martha

Excellent discussion with the vet/dentist & great follow up when we picked him up. Lots of encouragement for nervous owners. Thank you for caring for our boy. Wish we had known about you sooner!

Celez

Dear Dr. Hall and staff, Thank you so much for your care of Roosevelt. I appreciate very much the "tlc" Roosevelt endured in your hands while having oral surgery and the nice "little things" that followed post-op. It meant alot to me.

Kay and Roosevelt

This place is the gold standard in dental care for your pet. My wife and I took our cat here after another vet said they could not appropriately clean her teeth (she needed too many extractions and they were concerned they'd break her jaw) and recommended Dr. Hall. Coming recommended by another professional is always a huge plus. And Dr. Hall did not disappoint! Our cat did not react well to the surgery she needed. It happens. Dr. Hall was exceedingly generous with his time, seeing her every few days for months for no extra charge. He came in on a Saturday to give her fluids so that we would not have to take her to an animal hospital! Obviously, most pets do much better and have a simple procedure, but you should be comforted to know that, if your pet needs it, the clinic (including all the amazing staff) will go above and beyond to do what they can. We'll be taking our cats and dog here in the future for all dental work. Among other things, you will see that Dr. Hall is not the type to give you any BS or perform work unless it's medically necessary. After years of being suspicious of whether recommended teeth cleanings are needed or are simply profitable, I'm happy to have found someone I trust to do the right thing for my pet every time.

I brought my 2 kitties in to see Dr. Hall on Feb. 2nd, 2012. Sabastian, my Russian Blue mix kitty was there for his 1 year follow up from his 3 teeth extracted. Thank goodness only a cleaning this time for my "boy". My other kitty, Charity, DSH, was at the clinic for her first dental visit. I was only expecting a cleaning for her as well but was shocked to hear that Charity would need 9 teeth extracted. I couldn't believe that this kitty of about 3-4 years of age, not exactly sure because she was a rescue, would need that many teeth removed. I saw the x-rays, but still couldn't believe it. The surgery went well, and the staff would periodically give me updates on Charity's status. I knew that both kitty visits would be expensive, but I wasn't expecting the amount that I was told. The doctor and his staff were wonderful, and I knew that my kitties were in good hands. Like anything in life, you get what you pay for. Surgery is expensive and I didn't have pet insurance (something to think about for the future). I wasn't about to let my kitties go under anesthesia with someone who said that they could do the surgery for cheap. I knew that expertise, I was paying for this veterinarian's knowledge and experience. And that gave me comfort in knowing that my kitties were going to be ok.

Joyce B.

He has purred several times, when brushed and patted, so I know he is on the road to recovery. He also smells lovely—he always does, but this is a specific scent that he picked up at the clinic. Thank you all for the great care and Dr. Hall rules, not to mention has good taste with respect to canine companions

JJ and Dubu

Absolutely the very best! Dr. Hall is everything that a doctor should be - professional, caring, patient. knowledgeable, listener, and there-for-you-and-your-pet. In addition, his staff are responsive and very informative.

Dr. Hall and his staff have provided excellent care to my dogs, and they communicate well with us. I highly recommend them!

Yesterday, my dog, Pip, a Toller, went in for dental surgery by Dr. Hall at Animal Dental Clinic in Vienna, VA. Dr. Hall also works for the National Zoo. About a decade ago, Dr. Hall was the dentist of my German Shepherd who had a root canal. My concern at that time was whether the crown would last. It did--thru the lifetime of my dog thanks to a special customized composite for a crown. This time, my one-year old Toller had multiple damaged teeth (7) on the same side of his face. Whether he crashed into something or chewed rocks or a hard toy or bone, I will never know. The steps for Pip were clearly laid out by Dr. Hall and his staff, Allison and Cristal, who were thorough, patient, and pleasant in their responses to my numerous questions. Yesterday morning, 1 brought my dog in. After Dr. Hall had reviewed the x-rays, Dr. Hall called me with his recommendation. Shortly afterwards, Pip was operated on. Later that day, I picked him up. Using Dr. Hall, 1 am confidant that I have done my best for my dog. What family practitioner has such specialized experience? There are so few dog dentist specialists in the country. Would you let your internist extract your tooth? From now on, my dog will go once a year for a dental checkup. For all the dental work, the cost of the procedures was surprisingly affordable.

Marion J.

Took our four-year old German Shepherd to have two teeth extracted... and Dr. Hall. Cristal, and the entire staff made us all (doggy and the whole family) feel comfortable and at ease. Dr. Hall is incredibly friendly and made our pup feel at ease. The surgery went very smoothly, and the recovery time was minimal our girl was up and about in 24 hours and completely herself again soon after that. Highly recommend Animal Dental Clinic for any pet dental issues. Dr. Hall has incredible knowledge with small and large animals, and we had complete trust in what he could do.

My little Yogi has been with me for 9 years, through every moment good and bad. That's why when it comes to her health and care, she sees the best! The standard of care that yogi received at Animal Dental Clinic was next to none. I was so impressed with every attention to detail given by the doctor and his staff. Despite my anxiety over her having so much work done, I was so relieved when she came walking out doing well. The post-op care was amazing as well. The medications given for pain control were incredible. She never seemed over medicated or in pain at all. The staff was patient with all questions and helped me make the best decisions for my little girl. I'm already referring all my friends with animals to them. When it comes to making a choice in dental care for your loyal companion, choose Animal Dental Clinic of Vienna for the peace of mind you deserve and the quality care they deserve!

Little Gladys, the black Chihuahua-mix continues to do well with lots more energy. She brings joy and comfort into our lives. You saved her life. Thanks again!

The receptionist was friendly and cordial. The doctor was upfront about his assessment and held nothing back. It was very much appreciated. Would recommend.

Thank you! Our pinki couldn't wait three months for an appointment at the vet near our home. Dr. Hall got us in immediately. Definitely had no idea there was a dental only for pets in the area.

VelvetDaDog

Thank you for taking such good care of me. Love you all!

Surry M.

Dr. Hall is amazing. He obviously cares about pets. I received two independent veterinary recommendations to remove a tumor, some teeth, and part of my dog's jaw prior to visiting Dr. Hall. He was very professional and answered all my questions. Dr. Hall was recommended to me by someone l know and trust. I was nervous about doing the procedure on an older dog, but with two independent recommendations, I felt it was the best choice for my dog's health. My dog did fine, the surgery went well, and Dr. Hall followed up with a personal phone call to me the day after my pet's surgery to check on my dog and to see if I had any questions. Kim, in his office, is also great. My dog has fully recovered from the procedure and is doing great. I highly recommend Dr. Hall.

We are so grateful to Dr. Hall and his team for taking such good care of our 10-year-old Shih-Tzu, Bitsy. She had a benign mass in her mouth, discovered during routine cleaning (her second in three years) that was growing very aggressively, literally chewing up all the cartilage, bone and tissue in its path. In the end she lost her bottom left jaw, 8 side teeth and front and bottom front teeth--ouch. The recovery took about 2 weeks, but Animal Dental was very professional attentive and caring throughout, with thorough explanations, follow-up calls and emails, in addition to the two schedule post-op visits. Bitsy is now completely back to her cheerful self, eating kibble normally, without it having to be softened at all, and returns in 9 months for a check. We plan to take our other dog with us then for baseline radiographs. Thank you, Dr. Hall, Kim and your whole team for your great care.

Thanks for my pearly whites Dr. Hall - Professionalism, Quality: Walked in first time with my Great Pyrenees pearl she needed treatment on her overbite and Dr Hall was on point ready to go! Nice guy and did a great job on my puppy pearl! Thanks dr hall!

Extremely happy that I brought both of my dogs here for their dental care. Dr. Hall is very thorough and does great work!

Our dog, Mikey, somehow broke a tooth a few weeks ago. After a visit to the vet we were told to take him to an animal dentist. When we called, Kim, the receptionist, told us there was an appointment available the next day. Kim was incredibly welcoming when we arrived. She took us back to an exam room where we waited for just a few minutes before Dr. Hall came into see us. Dr. Hall immediately laid on the ground belly up and let Mikey come sniff him and lick him on the face. That was a great way to greet a more shy dog like Mikey. Dr. Hall told me about the options we had to take care of Mikey's broken tooth and patiently answered all of my questions. He was upfront with how much it would cost. We opted for root canal with a metal crown and were pleasantly surprised they they were able to do the procedure the same day. The instructions we received to care for him after the root canal were detailed and clearly explained. Dr. Hall even called to check on Mikey the day after his procedure. Today we went back for the metal crown placement. Again, Kim and Dr. Hall were welcoming and gentle. It really was the small things that made the biggest difference for us. We would strongly recommend the Animal Dental Clinic team! Thanks for taking such good care of our boy.

Alison H.

Doctor Hall recently took care of our 15+ year old Yorkie. Doctor Hall was thorough in his explanation of Abbey's dental needs, he explained our options and always made us feel that her dental decisions were ours to make. His pricing was fair, and he did exactly what he said he would and 72 hours later Abbey could not be any happier. Doctor Hall called us the next day to check in on Abbey and explained how she would respond over the next several days. I will be back to see Doctor Hall for Abbey's next dental check up. I would not hesitate to recommend Doctor Hall to anyone!!

Tom P.

Dr. Hall effectively addressed dental issues in my cat, resulting in a demonstrably much healthier and more comfortable companion animal. I was very pleased with the outcome of the procedure, and unreservedly recommend Dr. Hall to anyone considering dental treatment for their pet.

Hey guys. I don't know if you're open but I thought you might get a kick out of this. After his own surgery, Simon quit carrying his toys around, which made me very sad  but I figured was just a consequence of not having teeth anymore. However, after all the toys had to go up when his sister had her teeth out, he started carrying them around again. He has four that are currently favorites and he moves them to whatever floor we're on with much fanfare (a.k.a howling) no teeth needed, thank you very much. He has also caught several mice since we last talked so clearly he is living his best life. Little River is also doing great. Her favorite thing in the world to do is chew the shower curtain liner and/or try to untie all the chair cushions in the dining room. The little minx has almost figured out how to untie a chair tie with no teeth LOL, and she continues to go into the shower and gum the shower curtain liner to her heart's content. Also living her best life and clearly in so much less pain. A colleague of mine recently had a regular vet do extensive dental work on her animal and it did not go very well. I am so thankful that I brought my animals to you. I felt safe and I knew they were in the very best hands. Thank you for all you do and I hope that you are all keeping very safe right now.

Gerri with Simon and River

Dr. Hall and his staff took wonderful care of my puppy Maisie, who had retained baby teeth & crowding in her mouth. Dr. Hall took the time to explain my options, answer my many questions, and obviously cared about Maisie's well being whereas other clinics I'd contacted said they wouldn't be able to see us for several months, Dr. Hall made it a priority to treat her much sooner (having realized she was uncomfortable). Everly, Cristal, and the rest of the staff at Animal Dental Clinic are all friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful as well! Would recommend.

Take your small breed dog here right now! Very pleased with our experience -- Dr. Hall and the front desk person were both great and handled our anxious/sassy/angry/neurotic Chihuahua with ease! We have had multiple experiences with other vets where no one wanted to go near our dog's mouth because he snaps/growls, etc. We even went to a different dental vet who would not look in our dog's mouth!!!! Well, Dr. Hall did not care at all, he confidently handled our wacky snapping pup like it was no big deal (thank you!) and found 8 missing teeth and 10 problematic teeth. Our pup had his surgery with no problems. I was impressed when we received a call the next day from Dr. Hall (pretty sure this was a day the office wasn't even open, like a weird weekend or something) just to check in on day 1 of recovering from anesthesia and meds, etc. (I am a registered nurse and must say good luck finding a human surgeon who calls you the next day on their day off to see how you're doing!). I was also impressed with the documentation and the instructions for follow up at home. All info was super detailed, super helpful, and answered all of our questions. Our boy has healed perfectly and is a much happier pup, eating better, more playful...I will 100% take my pup back here for annual checkups.

Prior to taking our beloved cat to Animal Dental Clinic, I didn't even realize there was such a profession. Our middle-aged cat broke her bottom canine tooth rather suddenly, and we quickly rushed her to the vet. Our regular vet examined her and made a referral to two animal dental clinics in the area. We learned canine fractures are high risk for cats, given the location and risk for jaw fractures during extraction. Given the short turn around, our busy schedules, and the impending concern for our cat, we called the two dentists to obtain a better understanding of price, what was included in the procedures, and turnaround. The Animal Dental Clinic was able to accommodate us on a shorter turnaround, the location was more convenient, and the pricing seemed reasonable (for the services provided, all things considered). We went in for a consultation the next day and Dr. Hall walked us through the pros/cons of our options, and the costs of the procedure. He was very diligent to answer our questions and concerns, and ensured we were comfortable with the procedure that was about to be performed. After the procedure, he followed-up each day until we felt comfortable and confident in our cat's path to recovery. Dr. Halland his staff are super kind and courteous. They recognize customers may be coming in under duress/stress and are very good about taking down notes and walking you through the steps in easy to understand terms. Now nearly1 month later, our cat is happy and healthy, and we are thrilled to have taken her to Dr. Hall. I would highly recommend anyone looking for an animal dentist consider Dr. Hall.

Dental expertise beyond compare! It is expensive but it is less expensive than letting a problem fester until the bill is prohibitive or worse, requires that your beloved dog or cat has to be put down.

We brought our recently adopted senior cat for a dental check-up. The experience was very pleasant. Pretty much all clinics in the area didn't have any time slots within 2 to 6 weeks. But our cat's gums were bleeding. Dr Hall's team got us a reservation within 48 hours of our first call and ended up spent 50% of estimated treatment plan given by another vet in the area. Dr Hall was extremely patient with our cat who's always spicy during any vet visits. His crew also did very detailed explanation about the procedure and what we need to do when get home. We picked up our cat after 4 hours. His teeth was shining and we could notice an increase in appetite after a day.

Dayan L.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Dr Hall and his entire staff. His amazing credentials speak for themselves. If the National Zoo trusts him with their endangered species, I trust him with my eat absolutely. We had gone to the regular vet for a yearly check up but my cat's teeth were bad beyond what they were comfortable working on. We were referred elsewhere, but I found Dr. Hall. He is kind, caring, giving of his time, clear, educational, and straight forward. The entire staff is this way. They're happy to answer any questions. We got an appointment quickly, with the exam and procedure the same day. Everything went great. We had a post-op hiccup, but we brought her back and she was right as rain in 15 minutes. Dr Hall truly is outstanding. If your animal needs even a cleaning, I would not go anywhere else. Would you have your regular doctor clean your teeth? I think not. Go to the guy who truly knows what he's doing. Also, I thought this oral surgery adventure was going to cost $5 K or more. It was half that for top of the line care for my kitty. Go see Dr Hall, he is amazing.

Amy M.

I have a dog who vets tend to very politely refer to as "fractious". We don't know anything about his past, but he came to us right from NYC's dog death row and with a recently amputated leg and what they called a broken jaw. He's sweet in his own way. but he can't be handled at all and has to be totally sedated for his regular vet visits. So I was very worried when his vet told me he had some broken teeth that really needed to be removed because I know he's difficult and not everyone is willing to put the extra effort in. I called Animal Dental Clinic and explained his issues. They seemed fine with it. They seemed so ok with it that I was unsure they were being serious. But when I brought him in. they were so patient with him. I know he's difficult and time consuming. but they just rolled with it and made adjustments for him. He's home now and recovered and obviously feeling better than when he had those ratty broken teeth in his mouth. These people are so professional but so sweet that I don't even know what to say besides thank you for putting the extra time and effort in for my dog. The poor guy deserves it.

Leah D.

Dr Hall is an extraordinary Expert Dental vet. He was so good with Saffron and then the follow up was incredible... He called personally numerous times to check on the cat and see how we were holding up after the dental surgery. All vets can clean teeth, but not all vets can perform the delicate extractions that Dr Hall did. I'm sure you all love your pets as we do. Take a minute and have Dr Hall check out their teeth. You will be glad you did.

Parris P.

I wanted to thank Dr. Hall and his team for their extraordinary care and talent while treating my cat, Sassy. I took my cat to Dr. Hall for treatment, for what I and her primary vet, thought was an abscessed tooth. Dr. Hall immediately and accurately identified it as an oral cancer. There are only about 100 practicing veterinarian dentists worldwide. We are very lucky to have access to Dr. Hall and his compassionate team. Sometimes animal dentistry is tough to come to grips with as a pet owner. My cat had to have part of her jaw removed as well as several teeth. I honestly believe as hard as it was to make that decision it was it was the right thing to do. Unfortunately, she passed away recently recently. Dr. Hall and team gave her a better quality of life and gave me additional time with her that I otherwise would not had. Thank you, Dr. Hall and Team.

Jamie

Mom and I love it here! 5 stars from us!

Dear Cristal, You know how very grateful I am. It is so wonderful to watch them recover from so much pain. You were right - Mufasa is learning to eat dry food too. Thanks so much

Alfreda S.

As a dental professional myself, I'm so thankful I found Dr. Hall. His team is very passionate about promoting comprehensive oral health. I'll never leave my dog's oral health in the care of a general veterinarian again. Kim takes her time going over after surgery instructions and makes you feel so welcome. Due to my dog's health we will most likely be regular patients, but that's okay because this place is the best! Thank you again.

Rebekah P.

Dr. Hall, and his employees, are wonderful. Their knowledge and skillset are beyond compare. They've found things missed by other vets, and fixed things (especially for Mr. Stinky!) that no one else could fix - in fact, other dentists refused to even see him in a timely manner. We bring all our animals to Dr. Hall for dental work. I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Barron Hall, and Animal Dental Clinic in Vienna VA!!!!

Lois T.

I adopted Daisy last Fall; she was 7 years old from what they could estimate. Her teeth had some wearing down that I had never experienced with any of my other past 7 dogs. I initially went to the (another veterinary dentist in the drivable area); received a consultation and scheduled an appointment to have her taken in; knocked out and have her teeth and mouth examined to see if there was anything going on, not noticeable to the naked eye. The appointment was set for about 6 weeks out. A few days before her appointment I called to see if they determined what time they needed me to bring her in. I was told no, that it probably wouldn’t be until the afternoon as they had geriatrics booked in the morning. I was not comfortable with not allowing her to eat anything since midnight before until some time in the afternoon when they “thought” they would call me. I said then let me schedule another day, and they said that didn’t matter as they could not guarantee a morning appointment. I don’t know about you but when I book as far out as 6 weeks or so and then still put on a list to call the day of, it does not sit right with me. So I cancelled the appointment and called Dr. Hall’s office and Cristal, told her my dilemma. She was my first encounter with the Animal Dental Clinic. She totally understood and told me a morning appointment that we could take. I am so glad the (other veterinary dentist) appointment didn’t work out- Dr. Hall is amazing. You can tell he truly cares about every single pet he sees. When you go in, Cristal greets the pet(s) first to help them feel comfortable. Dr. Hall was the same way; he walks into the examining room and immediately gets down on the floor or the dog’s level and bonds with the animal. He is extremely intelligent but able to break down any procedure or dental explanation so you can understand it. With close to 30 years experience, volunteering at the DC Zoo working on dental issues with wild animals, he is still very down to earth, and you can see in his demeanor he truly loves animals. And to top it all off- when I went to check out, I was surprised to see my bill was about half of what the (other veterinary dentist) wanted to charge. I would not hesitate to recommend Dr. Hall. If he did people teeth, I would let him do mine as well. Dr. Hall, keep up the good work and God Speed!

Tammy H.

My dog child has been to see Dr. Hall for the past 2 years. She is a 9 year old French Bulldog and needed teeth pulled. You can see a difference in her spirit - she is so much happier and her breath smells 1000x better. Everyone at Animal Dental Clinic makes you feel comfortable and informed. They call when they say they are going to and do an excellent job!

My experience with Dr. Hall and his staff was purfect!

Natalie

Dear Dr. Hall, Thank you for saving Larry's life. We cannot imagine our family without all three "stages". He's a special boy to us, and we greatly appreciate the caring and kindness you gave to him. He's doing great - and no one told him he's only supposed to eat soft food!

Nelleen N.

Dr. Hall and his staff were wonderful! My boyfriend's police K-9 broke his tooth during training and was taken here for emergency dental work. He was treated quickly and was sent home with medicine and a follow up appointment to have his canine teeth capped. The follow up appointment went great and he now has all 3 of his remaining canine teeth capped to make them stronger and hopefully prevent future breakage and/or issues. He's only five years old, so he has years of work left in him! He had broken another canine tooth during training last year, and he was taken to a different animal dentistry center. That clinic did not save his tooth and it was removed. Dr. Hall reviewed records from that app and said he likely could've saved that tooth if the dog had been brought to him when it happened. We couldn't say enough good things about Dr. Hall and highly recommend him to every dog owner we know! (Name withheld for dog's safety)

Very positive experience with Dr. Hall and with his staff at the Animal Dental Clinic. My dog was kicked in the face by a horse during a walk when
we had a surprise encounter with a spooked horse. Needless to say, it was horrifying and traumatic. She had a number of fractured teeth, split her
upper lip severely, and had numerous lacerations on the face. After rushing her to the emergency vet on a Sunday night and spending six hours there without getting any help for the poor dog, I called around early Monday morning to several places, and Animal Dental Clinic squeezed me in on an emergency basis. The staff were very friendly, kind, and thorough. Dr. Hall was completely wonderful, professional, and reassuring. He removed the damaged teeth, stitched up the lacerations, and advised me thoroughly on recovery. The staff were amazingly comprehensive with checking out and recovery instructions. The next morning as wellas later that week Dr. Hall called to checkin on the dog and me. A very positive experience.

I have been taking my cats to Dr. Hall for dental care ever since my regular vet recommended him and I cannot recommend him highly enough. He and his staff take great care to ensure that the dental exam and any necessary additional procedures are appropriate for your pet and to follow up after procedures to make sure everything went well, and your questions are answered. For example, he once called me to let me know before proceeding with one of my cats' dental (care) that her bloodwork indicated early renal disease, but that willingness to keep me in the loop and to provide expert guidance is deeply appreciated. He also is great with the cats- he even got on the floor to play with one of mine while we were talking before, they were taken back for their appointments. Even aside from the high quality of care, the clinic provides fantastic extra services, like automatically sending over bloodwork to my regular vet, which saves me time, effort, and money. And the clinic staff are so lovely to interact with. I'm sad to be moving away from the DC area soon; it will be hard to find another dental vet I trust as much as Dr. Hall!

Charlotte

All so wonderful and take such great care of our animals. I praise Dr. Hall to everyone!

Linda

Dr. Hall and Cristal are amazing. I brought my dog in on the recommendation of my regular vet due to excessive sneezing. Turns out my pup had a dead canine tooth and an oral nasal fistula. Both Dr. Hall and Cristal took the time to get down with my pup and meet her on her terms, no other vet has done that. They were very communicative about costs and ensured all treatment was my choice. Dr. Hall makes his own follow up calls which is a great touch. I highly recommend them for any and all dental work your pet may need, the negative reviews do not represent the excellent care you'll receive at this office.

We had a wonderful experience with Dr. Hall, Cristal, and the staff at Animal Dental Clinic. We were referred to Dr. Hall from our regular vet since our 7 lb. senior chihuahua needed some dental work. During our consultation, both Dr. Hall and Cristal immediately got down on the floor with our cranky old chi to get to know him (and his many quirks), and it's clear that the staff truly love and care about the animals they work with. We talked at length about a treatment plan and I never felt pressure - Dr. Hall laid out the pros and cons of a few different treatment methods and helped me make an informed decision. After surgery, Dr. Hall called the next day to check in and see how things were going. As it turns out, our pup wound up getting a pretty nasty infection, and Dr. Hall was nothing but kind as he came into the office to meet us on both a Saturday and Sunday to provide care. Even though the healing process took longer than we anticipated, we received periodic calls from both Dr. Hall and Cristal to check in on our dog (and his worried humans) for several days, and when we called or emailed, we always received a prompt response. I recommend this practice without hesitation!

My recently adopted Boston Terrier fractured two teeth in one week. Our new regular vet recommended Dr. Hall, and I was quick to agree given that my last experience with a fractured tooth treated by another local veterinary practice (NOT A SPECIALIST) ended in a fractured jaw. I read all of the reviews on Yelp and Google before the appointment, and my gut reaction was that some people lack experience with the cost of specialist veterinary care and the inability for any veterinarian to guarantee an outcome. I went to the appointment, and my experience pre and post operative has been very positive. He spent time with us during the consultation and I didn't have any reservations leaving my Boston with him for radiographs. Dr. Hall called me, and we discussed the options, pros/cons, and cost. The cost was in line with what I expected given my experience. (I have owned 3 rescue Boston Terriers, and all had medical issues). I never felt pressured. Once we settled on the specifics of the operation, Dr. Hall proceeded with surgery. My Boston has done very well and Dr. Hall (called) the morning after the procedure to check on us. Was the treatment expensive? It depends on your perspective. It was in line with what I've experienced with other specialists including another board-certified veterinary dentist - and what I expected based on my research. All specialty vet care is costly! I will pay more to get it right the first time. A broken jaw is a risk with lower jaw dental work and you reduce that risk by allowing a specialist (to) do the work. I would not trust a general vet to perform dental surgery. We are lucky to have a board-certified dentist for our pets in this area. Do your research. There are only about 100 in the world. In short, I highly recommend Dr. Hall and will return although I'm hoping we have no more doggie dental issues in the near future!

When you find yourself looking into a board certified surgeon and specialist, this is probably not the time to want anything but excellence. Excellence is what I received over multiple visits from Dr. Hall and his competent and kind-hearted staff, Cristal and Everly. I brought them my 18 year old cat Bailey who had pretty much stopped eating due to dental disease. My regular vet had never flagged this issue for years and my poor old guy suffered in silence. When it was finally clear that he had an issue, my regular vet told m that he was likely too old for surgery and the risk was too great. After trying antibiotics and pain meds for days, I knew I needed to find a specialist. From the very first phone call, the staff at ADC were accommodating and got me in right away, which was so amazingly appreciated when you have a pet who is in pain and dire straits. They treated Bailey with kindness and compassion, but more than anything I wanted competence. Dr. Hall knows his craft and will tell you directly what is going on and what needs to be done for your pet. I appreciated that. That's why I'm there. I don't need someone to sugar coat anything. Most of us are likely in front of him because we have a serious situation with one of our fur babies. The office emphasized that age is not a disease and I felt comfortable leaving Bailey there. Dr. Hall called me and let me know exactly what he recommended. My guy needed 12 teeth removed. The doctor could have taken them all, but I appreciated being conservative to limit the time under anesthesia. They also were able to do the pre-op bloodwork in the facility, which was so appreciated and saved my Bailey another visit to the vet. Many other facilities require you to get that done at your vet first. When I came to pick him up, Cristal went over absolutely everything about his procedure and after care. She answered every question and made it clear that if I had any questions, I could call after hours as well! Being 18 Bailey didn't adjust to his new mouth the next day but within several days he sure did. Dr. Hall called me not only the next day but the next two days (on a weekend, no less!) just to check in. The extra mile he went puts him in the top 1% of professionals in my book. Yes, specialist aren't cheap, but if you are in front of one it's because you know that your pet has a pressing need that deserves a gold standard of care. That is what you will get. Fast forward to three weeks post op, my Bailey has a new lease on life. Although poor guy is battling kidney disease at the same time, seeing him pain free and eating anything he wants seriously makes me so confident knowing that I made the right decision for him. He suffered subtly in silence for years and I see the ease that he eats now. I know whatever time my old guy has left he will be pain free. Thank you to Dr. Hall and the entire staff of Animal Dental Clinic

Samantha

We feel so much better thanks to Dr. Hall!

This review is long overdue. If there was a way, I could give 10 stars 1 definitely would! Dr. Hall and his staff were fantastic! My Portuguese Water Dog was seen by Dr. Hall in April 2019. Dr. Hall is very knowledgeable! Dr. Hall explained the procedure in great detail that was required for Max. Max had to have all of his teeth extracted due to periodontal disease. Dr. Hall's staff kept me informed of how Max was doing during the surgery. Dr. Hall provided instructions for me to follow for Max post-surgery which made the healing process very manageable. I highly recommend Dr. Hall at Animal Dental Clinic! From my discussions with Dr. Hall during the consultation 1 could definitely tell he cares a great deal about animals and provides the best next steps according to what he see during the examination. The cost for all Max's teeth to be extracted was reasonable when seeing how healthy Max is now after the procedure. A big thank you from Max and I to Dr. Hall and his staff!

Dr. Hall and his staff extended extremely professional service and care to my cat. The follow up was the best I’ve ever seen in the 50 years I’ve been a pet owner. He and his staff quickly addressed some potential complications and averted additional problems. I would highly recommend this place and would entrust my pets to his capable hands.

It is my pleasure to write this review in support of Dr. Hall. Animal Dental Clinic has been a part of our pets' lives for several years. Dr. Hall has been caring for my pets, since Dr. Williams retired, and I am 100% pleased with the results. Dr. Hall works very hard for our pets and has their best interest in mind. My second encounter with Dr. Hall involved our second eldest cat that needed full extractions due to severe gum disease (not my fault—bad genes/bad gums). I was a nervous wreck and making it all about me. After Dr. Hall explained the pain our cat was in and her inability to eat, I knew the answer: full extraction. I put my trust in Dr. Hall's skills and education, and thankfully it paid off: the results were nearly instantaneous resulting in increased appetite and playtime. Our general veterinarian was very pleased with the improvements in our cat's weight and attitude. It is now 2013 and the little girl will be celebrating her 19th Birthday... oh yes, PLAYTIME it's ON!!! I do know Dr. Hall considers our animal's interests and what is best for them. In my opinion he is dedicated to his profession, and trade. While it is a business, it is one he takes great pride and care in. I would be hard-pressed to go to another animal dentist, despite the fact that they are few and far between. Animal Dentistry is a highly skilled profession. Update 1/12/2016: Still a proud pet parent to two new fur patients of Dr. Hall. Update September 7, 2016: All is great with ADC. A++++++++ Dr. Hall is still all about the animals!! Updated 12/30/19: Still very satisfied with the care provided by Animal Dental Clinic and Dr. Hall!!! Our fur babies are doing great. Dental cleaning isn’t their favorite, but we are thankful for the care. Still going strong. Thank you, Dr. Hall!

One only needs to look at Dr. Hall's background to know that he is one of the best veterinary dentists around. There is a reason why zoos across the country, including the National Zoo, trust him to work on their exotic animals, and why he flies around the world to provide dental care to any animal with teeth. I went to Dr. Hall after a recommendation from my primary care veterinarian who noticed that my 3.5 year old, 8-lb Yorki-poo named Loki was showing signs of heavy plague build-up leading to periodontal disease, and his overcrowded mouth was causing issues for his healthy teeth as well. Loki is family, so when it was time to see a specialist, I wanted the best. The best is Dr. Hall and his team. Loki hates being at the vet's office, but the entire team was so kind when greeting him and came out to say hello that it made him feel comfortable. When Dr. Hall walked into the exam room and, much to my surprise, laid on the floor, Loki immediately ran over and jumped on Dr. Hall - tail wagging the whole time. It was clear that this man was already on another level when it came to interacting with animals. After an initial examination it became apparent that in addition to the overcrowded mouth causing his molars to turn, there were teeth that were hitting gum tissue. In other words, Loki's mouth was a mess, and it was causing him pain. Dr Hall clearly explained the issues and his recommendation to make sure that Loki had a happy, healthy, pain-free mouth. I never felt pressured to take those recommendations and it was clear I could go and get a second opinion if desired, though having already talked about his teeth with my primary care vet and having researched Dr. Hall's extensive expertise, I felt comfortable moving forward. By removing some smaller teeth, Dr. Hall would be able to relieve the crowing and ultimately save the canines and molars. His skill as a surgeon really showed when in the midst of surgery, upon finding a previously unforeseen issue below the gum line. Dr. Hall was able to rectify the problem and still save Loki's molars, canines, and some smaller teeth. All this, while conducting a thorough teeth cleaning, leaving Loki's teeth sparkling white. The post operative instructions were easy and clear and included long-term plans like brushing and which dental treats are actually tested and effective vs. just advertising. It has been two weeks since Lok's surgery and we just had a follow-up appointment with Dr. Hall and his team. Loki was happy to see Dr. Hall and even happier when Dr. Hall said his stitches had healed to the point where Loki could start being able to play with his favorite toys again. After this we discussed long term care surrounding teeth brushing methods and regular dental visits. It was clear Dr. Hall will always speak for your animal and what he believes is best because your pet cannot speak for themselves. Dr. Hall will provide cost estimates, always acknowledging that once your pet is under anesthesia, he may find something that was not seen in the initial exam (which happened with Loki) but when this happened, Dr. Hall called me and sought permission to perform the additional steps. Go in for a consultation, if you're on the fence-go get a second opinion, then you'll ultimately realize why Dr. Hall and his team are simply the best veterinary specialist around.

Dear Crystal, More than a year ago, you gave me advice about how to connect with my rescue Siamese, Ramses. His Brother was making progress, but he was not. I followed your advice. We had a breakthrough! Ramses still has work to do. But he also solicits affection. He purrs. He has moments when he is happy. He was on course for a lifetime of loneliness. Now he is learning to be loved. Thank you for generously sharing your wisdom!

I read all of the Google reviews before taking my dog to Animal Dental Clinic, including the one-star review. My dog had his appointment today. I did not experience any treatment as one-star wrote. Instead, I saw a Vet who clearly enjoys taking care of animals. I have not been around Veterinarians all my life, but i was raised on a farm. Oh, wait, I do hang out with Vets, but that's because I am a Soldier in the Army. Anyhow, my dog took right to Dr. Hall, the Veterinarian, and my dog is an excellent judge of character. Just ask the pesky solicitors who ring our doorbell. My dog warmed to Dr. Hall instantly. The Dr. explained everything, answered all of my questions, then my dog followed him to the back like my dog owned the place without whining for his mom or even looking back at me. That never happens. My dog knows an animal lover when he smells one. And the staff! Cristal is a gem! She explained everything to me on post-op instructions and gave me written instructions to take with me. I had no idea how bad his teeth were, but it also wasn't a surprise as they had been looking bad. I shouldn't have waited so long to take my dog in to see the Dr. Don't wait like I did. Have your animal's teeth checked early and often! We do as humans. And it's not like our pets can tell us they have a tooth ache. Also, they give a discount to military! Also a sign of a great business, helping those who serve.

I was referred to Animal Dental Clinic by my vet as my pup Ralphie was missing a bottom canine tooth. Come to find out, there were 3 impacted teeth and 3 that were dead. The poor guy is only 8 months old and appeared to have had trauma before | adopted him. I was so nervous for his surgery but Cristal, the (office manager), soon calmed me with her compassionate bedside manner and big smile. She was professional, patient and extremely detail oriented. She even sent me some photos of Ralphie with different photoshopped backgrounds. I would go back to Animal Dental Clinicjust for her. As for Dr. Hall, he was direct, to the point and unwavering. He professionally explained in detail through the x-rays and photo review with me prior to the surgery. Ralphie is now doing well thanks to the team at Animal Dental Clinic.

Having just returned from a post-operative visit to the Animal Dental Clinic, I decided to write a Yelp review regarding my very good experience with this clinic and Dr. Hall. I have had nine dogs over the past twenty years and have used specialty veterinary practices for many of them. When I noticed some change in behavior with my blind and deaf 8-year-old Australian Shepherd and his noticeably bad breath (although his teeth had been very recently cleaned at his regular vet), I took him to the Animal Dental Clinic. I was familiar with this practice when I last visited there about fifteen years ago with another special needs dog who had major dental problems. After having full mouth X-rays showing many problems, Joey had all of his upper teeth removed except his canines and some of his lower teeth. I was naturally surprised to hear the X-ray results, but I had suspected that something was wrong and that he might be in pain. Now it's just two weeks since surgery and Joey looks great, has sweet breath, and his energy and sweet nature have returned. He had obviously been suffering in silence for some time. Yes, it was an anxiety-producing experience and yes, it's expensive—just like any specialty medicine. However, the result was worth it. Dr. Hall was very kind to Joey when he first met him—sitting on the floor to examine him rather than the frightening experience of being lifted up on a cold metal table. He took his time explaining things, called me the day after surgery to check on Joey's condition, and his office staff also called and were very pleasant and helpful. At today's follow-up visit, Joey seemed happy to see Dr. Hall who once again got down on the floor first to play with him before he looked in his mouth. Joey was not at all frightened—which tells me that he was also treated kindly when I wasn't there, which is always a concern especially given his handicaps. Hopefully Joey's dental problems are over, but I would return to Dr. Hall if future problems arise and would recommend him to others.
